Wildland firefighters perform a range of tasks, including using hand tools, chainsaws, and heavy equipment to clear brush and create fire breaks, setting controlled burns to prevent the spread of wildfires, and using hoses and pumps to spray water and fire-retardant chemicals onto fires.
